Arabesque for Nicole "Birdflight" (2013)

Dedicated to my younger sister, Nicole. The flowing arpeggiated patterns and harmonic progressions are directly inspired by Debussy's "Two Arabesques." These long melodies imitate the swooping flight of birds, singing joyfully as they fly. A second arabesque, dedicated to my older sister, Bethany, is in progress, which will completed the set.

R.O.M.P. Four Preludes for Piano (2011)

Each prelude is harmonically, rhythmically, and melodic diverse, but still shares common key centers and ideas with the other preludes. Originally Mvt. I and Mvt. IV were separate pieces, premiered in Spring 2011, Fall 2011, but were brought together in this set with other movements, premiered Spring 2012.

Five Studies for Piano,
Two Pencils and Hymnbook (2010)

For prepared piano (Kawai grand). This piece differs from other prepared pieces because it was designed to be not only enjoyable to play, but also rewarding to the listener. The five studies are each very distinct and use both common and innovative prepared piano techniques in order to be an intermediate level work for prepared piano.

7 Variations on a Theme by Mussorgsky (2009-2010)

Each variation is dedicated to a leading composer from a specific genre or time period of music. The variation draws material from the theme and fits in into the form, its accompaniment, or embellishments.

An organ fantasia that uses Genevan 65 as the bass melody. 

Experimental Suite for Marimba Duet (2009)

Two marimba players on one marimba. Three movements that employ various techniques demonstrating the range of the instrument and the skill of the performers.

10 Children's Songs for Piano (2009)

A collection of melodies ranging from easy to moderate. Each has a distinct mood and feeling and some serve as etudes, introducing a certain technique and implementing it.
